Job Description
IT Systems Administrator
As a System Administrator on the Technology Services team, you will be responsible for building, supporting, and maintaining hybrid cloud server and network environments. You will also support Federal and Government environments. You will be a point of escalation for other members of the Technology Services team. You will work with a team of other IT professionals, and be primarily focused on performing day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for the maintenance, availability, performance, and security of the cloud and on-premise server infrastructure as well as the automation and code bases you support and develop.

Your objectives:
  • Documenting, staging/testing, configuring, planning, improving, migrating, implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting cloud and on-premise server infrastructure
  • Assigning and resolving tickets escalated from the service desk
  • Creating and implementing change requests
  • Responding to emergencies and participating in an on-call schedule
  • Lead an ongoing push towards zero-trust infrastructure
  • Researching and understanding new technologies and environments
  • Performing routine maintenance on IT systems and infrastructure such as backups and patching
  • Provide end-user support for escalated tickets Perform capacity planning and ensure the scalability of existing infrastructure
  • Develop and use key performance indicators to effectively communicate system health and performance
  • Collaborate with others and influence the technical and procedural direction of the team
  • Maintain Windows and Linux servers
  • Develop and document common practices and standardsImplement, maintain, and improve AAA infrastructure
  • Perform on-prem to cloud migrations of servers and services
  • Assist in hosting operations for websites, internally and externally facing
  • Operate and participate in the development of VDI solutions
  • Perform IT tasks related to M&A operationsOther duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements

Demonstrable experience:
  • Managing Active Directory forests
  • Administering both Windows and Linux environments
  • Migrating servers and services from on-premise to cloud environments
  • Leveraging AWS and/or Azure service offerings
  • Supporting remote locations
  • Scripting with Powershell and Bash

Familiarity with:
  • Change management processes
  • Common AAA protocols, such as RADIUS, SAML, OIDC, etc
  • DNS
  • .NET/C# or another object-oriented programming language
  • Migrating virtualized servers to AWS
  • Subnetting, routing, and stateful/less firewalls
  • Foundational network design principles

Have:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Network Administrator, System Administrator, or similar role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate what zero-trust architecture is
  • Knowledge of VDI and other compute virtualization technologies
  • Active relevant certifications, including but not limited to Cisco, AWS, ITIL, Microsoft, or IAT Level I/II approved certifications
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotationUS CitizenshipAbility to travel domestically and internationally
  • Willfulness to adapt to the varying needs of a changing environment
