IT Senior Application Developer IT Application Development Senior/Specialist Here is your chance to work with a great team that is nationally recognized for its social and health services research using integrated client data. Within the Facilities, Finance, and Analytics Administration (FFA), Research and Data Analysis (RDA) provides analytical information and answers about Washington State populations associated with health and human services. RDA projects are intended to assess the efficacy of DSHS programs, monitor trends, measure outcomes, and to help inform policy development and program improvement efforts. RDA provides a unique work environment for pursuing health and human services research and evaluation work that directly influences policy. You’d be within the Analytic Data Integration Office of RDA which houses our statewide Integrated Client Data Repository, a complex linked analytical social, health, and criminal justice data infrastructure that provides the foundation for nearly all analytic products built by RDA. This office also contains healthcare analytics and forecasting used by researchers and analysts from state and federal government agencies, universities, and research institutes for complex projects. As a member of this team, you’d be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our growing suite of internally developed applications. You’ll use your knowledge and application development skills to create custom applications that are mostly web-based. Connecting with others from outside agencies and across our divisions, you’ll work with application development, IT architecture, and infrastructure management. This job allows for a hybrid (in-office/remote) work schedule. Some of what you’ll do Develop applications, create, modify, and maintain our suite of custom desktop and web applications within our application infrastructure Consult with end users and stakeholders, and ensure applications meet business needs and security standards Collaborate with colleagues to ensure applications are communicating with the Central Analytic Data Infrastructure Technical mentor, coach, and trainer on programming and technical issues regarding application development Who we’re looking for A professional with a bachelor’s degree, including 9 semesters or 15 quarter hours of computer science courses, and 7 years of progressive responsibility for application design and development. (A master's in computer science or a related field may be substituted for 2 years of the above experience). As well as the following experience which may be concurrent with the experience above: Five years of experience writing secure code in the .Net environment using Visual Studio 2015 or higher Five years of expert-level experience programming in C# Two years of experience in implementing web applications through a web server, preferably in IIS Desired Advanced-level T-SQL programming Experience in web design using Cascading Style Sheets and other graphic designs JavaScript programming or AJAX, JQuery, and/or HTML5 programming PHP programming experience Contact Information
