Visiting Assistant Professor The department seeks a scholar with expertise in classical philosophy, taking that field to include multiple intellectual lineages, including, but not limited to classical Mediterranean and Asian cultures. The successful candidate must be able to teach classical Greek thought at the graduate level. However, the appointment is for one year. The teaching load is 2:2, with includes two survey courses per year, an advanced undergraduate course, and one course at the graduate level. Salary will be 50K/year with benefits. Deadline 2/27/23 Application Instructions: Application letter that discusses your training in Ancient Philosophy and your pedagogy. A teaching dossier. A syllabus for a survey of ancient philosophy. (Our 200W is required for majors and writing intensive.) A syllabus for an advanced course in ancient philosophy. (Our 400W is also writing intensive.) A syllabus for a graduate course in ancient philosophy. Two letters of recommendation.
