The State of Connecticut, the Department of Developmental Services (DDS)- South Region, Camp Harkness, is currently accepting applications for the position of Booth Operator (Summer Worker). Comprehensive Benefit Offerings: -There are no benefits with this position. Position Highlights: -Hours: 20 hours per week. -Schedule: Tuesday 8:00am - 1:00pm, Thursday 9:00 am - 1:00pm, Friday 8:00am-1:00pm, Saturday 8:00am - 1:00pm. -Regular days off (RDO's) are Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday. Duration: -This is a seasonal position and will end no later than October 20, 2023. The Role: -Job duties include, but are not limited to: -Greeting, checking for park passes, and directing visitors to Camp Harkness. Camp Harkness: -Located in Southeastern Connecticut on the shores of Long Island Sound. The 102-acre property in Waterford CT is comprised of open and wooded land and includes tidal marsh and beachfront. Facilities at Camp -Harkness include year-round and seasonal cabins, year-round cottages, seasonal tent sites, barnyard animals, picnic pavilions & grills, accessible playscape, scenic walkway and overlook, bathhouse, beach with seasonal boardwalk, gardens, dining hall, lodge, and infirmary. Camp Harkness is owned by the State of Connecticut and managed by the Department of Developmental Services. -At DDS, we aim to support lifelong planning, and to join with others to create and promote meaningful opportunities for individuals to fully participate as valued members of their communities. -These are seasonal positions and DDS permanent employees will not be considered for these positions.
