County Attorney - Tompkins County NY Join Our Team as County Attorney in Tompkins County! Tompkins County is seeking a dedicated County Attorney to lead our legal team and serve as a key advisor to government officials, shaping the future of our county! Position Overview: As County Attorney, you will play a crucial role in providing legal counsel to the County Legislature, County Administration, and various departments and advisory boards. You'll have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of legal matters, from civil litigation and contracts to land use and employment matters. Your expertise will help shape the legal landscape of Tompkins County, ensuring that our community continues to thrive. Key Responsibilities: Provide legal advice and counsel to County officials and departments. Represent and/or identify representation for Tompkins County in legal proceedings and negotiations. Draft and review contracts, ordinances, and legal documents. Oversee the work of the Deputy County Attorney and legal support staff. Stay current on legal developments affecting the County. Pay Rate: $137,758.40yr -Hire rate, $149,697.60yr Work rate after 9 months Benefits: Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Opportunities for professional development and advancement.
