3 Year Visiting Assistant Professor in Health and Human Performance The Health and Human Performance department at Berea College invites applications for a full-time, three-year Assistant Professor position, with the potential for renewal. Teaching responsibilities will include: classes in the Health and Human Performance General and P-12 curriculums and within the General Wellness curriculum, beginning August 2024. The ideal candidate will have an Ed.D/Ph.D. (ABD considered) in physical education, kinesiology or closely related field, and a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education. Candidates with expertise in adapted physical education and individual/dual sports are particularly encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will display professionalism when interacting with members of the Berea College community and will demonstrate a commitment to carrying out the mission of Berea College. Courses may include: Adapted physical education, Individual/Dual Sports, Wellness, and various activity courses. Required Qualifications: • Earned Master’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology or closely related field at time of application • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in K-12 Physical Education • Minimum of 1 year experience teaching Methods courses • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) • Commitment to student engagement, mentoring and success • Evidence of demonstrating ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
