Operations and Individual Giving Director Department/Team: Development Position Reports To: Chief Advancement Officer Work Location: Hybrid (Anticipate 3-days per week on-site) FLSA Classification: Full-Time/Salaried/Exempt Benefits: Full Medical/Dental/Vision coverage for employees; 401(k) & FSA options; Paid Vacation & Personal Days; eligible for parking discounts & free ORCA card Pay Range: $71,162.00 - $77,664.00 annually Position Classification: 900; S-3 Application Deadline: Monday, October 16th, 2023 You can apply from your phone by texting "OIGD" to (206) 966-4931 ABOUT THE POSITION Seattle Rep is seeking an experienced development professional to support efficient development operations and lead the annual giving team focusing on new, low & mid-level donors. The Operations and Individual Giving Director will drive the strategic growth of our philanthropic pipeline and ensure operational effectiveness across the development team. Typical Duties Include: Develop strategy to increase donor acquisition, retention, and growth at the low and mid-level year-over-year (40%) Provide vision and leadership for Annual Giving fundraising initiatives for low to mid-level donors (approximately $3,000 and below) to drive increased total giving in dollars and number of donors annually with a goal of raising at least $800,000 from this segment. Work collaboratively with the Business Operations/Tessitura team to improve systems by establishing data-driven performance metrics across Individual Giving programs and creating efficient management tools for prospect pipeline and revenue projection data. Foster a creative and entrepreneurial environment and apply innovative approaches to retain/grow giving. Strengthen moves management to advance prospects towards solicitation and to continually replenish the individual donor pipeline. Work with the Marketing team to build systems and processes to engage with new patrons while building a sustainable pipeline of donors. Work collaboratively with Chief Advancement Officer to ensure that Annual Giving communications strategy aligns with departmental and organizational communications plans, and to ensure timely and accurate execution of communications to individual donors. Manage the Annual Giving Team (30%) Manage a team of three staff, including frontline fundraisers and support staff, responsible for Annual Giving at low and mid-levels, and participate in the design and implementation of a team structure that results in ongoing growth in individual contributions. Create systems to track individual giving growth and gift officer work with donors and prospects. Support, coach, and inspire annual giving staff to sustainably achieve targets through relationship management, implementation of effective and personalized strategies, pipeline development, and overall engagement of donors and prospects within their portfolios. Provide mentorship and support for direct reports and foster an environment that develops talents within the team through ongoing professional development and cross-training. Oversee Development Operations (20%) Oversee Tessitura database resource plan that enables a disciplined, data-driven approach to overall development strategy focused on measures and results. Note: there is a separate Business Operations Team that manages our CRM. Manage contributed revenue and development expense budgets, including staffing plans, as part of the organization’s overall budget. Oversee tracking of departmental expenses. Prepare and deliver monthly reports on the status of all contributed income programs. Oversee and ensure donor acknowledgment, pledge billing, and income accounting. Ensure accurate and complete departmental records and donor files. Serve as an essential contributor to Seattle Rep’s culture and success (10%) Add constructively to the collaborative and collegial health of the organization. Add actively and constructively to the EDI (equity, diversity & inclusion) work of the organization, including attending all-staff training sessions. Engage with and strive to embody Seattle Rep’s mission, vision, and values in all aspects of work. Establish solid and cohesive working relationships throughout the organization, engaging staff at all levels in fundraising efforts, and promoting interdepartmental communication and cooperation. Act as a strong collaborator, so that the talents and skills of Development staff are maximized and that the group works collectively for the common good. Help create a culture of philanthropy among staff, Board members, and donors.? Minimum Qualifications: Commitment to cultivating an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace via decisive action including consistently seeking out opportunities for self and community improvement in the areas of racial equity, accessibility, gender inclusivity, and cultural sensitivity. 5+ years of development experience, with proficiency in annual fund campaigns, including donor acquisition and retention. 3+ years of personnel management experience A proven record of achieving aggressive annual fundraising goals, as an individual and leading a team Command of fundraising best practices Working knowledge of constituent relationship management databases; experience with Tessitura a plus Well organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks within dynamic environment.
