Responsibilities:

• Design, operate, and maintain custom and COTS electrical systems for sensors, telescopes, lasers, adaptive optics and ancillary observatory equipment.

• Prepare and maintain electrical systems specifications and CAD drawings.

• Design and build custom telescope and imaging systems, including adaptive optics, lasers, mount control, system controls and atmospheric compensation capabilities.

• Oversee installation and testing of electrical equipment to confirm compliance with customer requirements.

• Identify and resolve problems with existing systems.

• Evaluate customer requirements for performance, reliability and capability and assist in the development of novel solutions.

• Monitor customer needs and determine requirements and possible solutions.

• BS Electrical Engineeringor related field

• Experience with Controls Engineering

• 5-8 years' experience
