The Associate Director of Traditional Undergraduate Admissions serves to provide leadership, industry expertise and overarching supervision of Traditional Undergraduate Admissions Representatives. The position involves outreach, recruitment, admissions, and enrollment of freshman, transfer, and international students. This role is responsible for establishing an exemplary operation and developing a high-performance team. The primary focus of this position is to support overall enrollment and revenue goals by providing vision and innovation that enhance and support APUís recruitment efforts.

Required Education

Bachelorís degree required;
Masterís degree preferred.
Required Experience

Four to eight years of professional experience working with people in a customer service and/or recruiting/sales environment.
Previous admissions experience is required.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to use technology to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and customer service.
Experience using database systems and data analytics to inform strategic decisions.
Attention to detail, the ability to work independently and as a team member.
Outstanding organizational, planning, and analytical abilities.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions

Leads overarching supervision of the TUG recruitment division as part of the TUG Leadership Team.
Responsible for the recruitment of assigned territories and meeting recruitment targets.
In addition to the ADís own territory, ensure team members are in regular contact with students in assigned territory to assist with completion of the application process to include:
Phone, email, text communication to applied, accepted, and confirmed students and parents.
50 calls minimum/day (during high travel season this will flex) for each representative
Provides financial aid estimates and discussion regarding offer of financial assistance.
Brings closure to student files with one of the following results:
Acceptance of financial aid offer, tuition deposit, and first bill payment.
Cancellation of file.
Assists student applicants with financial aid, application procedures, and pre-registration/registration procedures and with any on-campus departmental scholarships for which the applicant may be eligible.
Evaluates application files and makes preliminary recommendations regarding the admission decision for applicants in assigned geographic areas.
Leads and drives all recruitment-related strategic enrollment/recruitment projects in the office.
This could include CRM campaign communication development and execution, social media activity, recruiting policy and procedures, and creation of reports such as the annual competitor report.
Evaluate current practices and protocols for effective recruitment and propose changes to leadership as appropriate.
Leads and supervises the TUG admissions representatives. This includes hiring, training, coaching, providing professional development direction, etc.
Travels to and attends relevant technical and industry-related conferences to keep abreast of current enrollment management technologies and other recruitment/ enrollment trends.
Serves as the primary interdepartmental TUG recruitment division leadership contact; proactively communicating recruitment policies and procedures to internal and external constituents.
Provides accurate and timely data and partners with the Executive Director and other members of the leadership in data analysis.
Works closely with the executive director to assist with strategic planning and provide vision for the office.
Partners with the recruitment manager to assist the TUG representatives in leading the admissions assistants by guiding them on calls/contacts that need to be made including the development of call scripts, documentation notes, and overseeing the process.
Leads the TUG admissions representatives to bring exceptional customer service to all students, staff, and academic departments, supporting university enrollment goals.
Work with academic partners to ensure the admissions representatives are equipped with relevant program information to effectively recruit students into the university.
Work directly with the admissions representatives to include:
On-going evaluation of processes and procedures.
On-going implementation of new or revised departmental policies.
Recruitment goal setting and evaluation
Implementation of inquiry and applicant processing changes that result from evaluation.
Weekly or Biweekly one-on-one and group staff meetings.
On-going supervision, review, accountability, and evaluation of each staff member.
Perform consistent quality control inspections of all representative correspondence.
Manage admission representative calendars to ensure the department is consistently well staffed to serve prospective students and families.
Plans and travels to off campus events, leading admissions representatives on all recruitment and pre-registration events.
Required to work all recruitment events during fall and spring recruitment cycles and summer including weekends and evenings as necessary.
Required to work Saturday commencement events (Winter and Spring).
Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs.
Assumes duties assigned by the Executive Director.

Must have exceptional customer service skills, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
Ability to develop and deliver public presentations.
Office management and organizational skills.
Proficient in data entry, analysis, and quality control monitoring.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage details and follow through.
Must be collaborative and an effective team member and team builder.
Mental Demands

Physical Demands

Requires repetitive motion and sitting at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
Hearing and speaking on the telephone.
Meetings may require walking and/or driving to various University locations.
Availability to drive and travel locally, and on occasion, nationally. Must be currently licensed to drive in the state of California.
Ability to pull, push, bend, grasp, reach and lift up to 20 lbs.
Must be able to climb stairs multiple times in a work day.
Visual Demands

Computer monitor and reading.

Pleasant office, comfortable temperatures.

Proficient in Google Apps., Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.

Grade 12: $66,560 to $73,365 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
