Job Description
Training & Outreach Coordinator
The Office of Equal Opportunity and Access is seeking a Training & Engagement Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

Join a group of collaborative, equity-minded professionals committed to advancing diversity throughout the university. Oregon State University’s (OSU) Office of Equal Opportunity and Access (EOA) is ready for a Training and Engagement Coordinator to guide us to the next level in proactively informing the community about our work, and to push the institution inclusive of and beyond civil rights compliance. We are seeking a coordinator with foresight for advancing these objectives through relationship building and a focus on continuous improvement of office-level processes, procedures, communications, and training efforts. Reporting to the Director of Access and Affirmative Action, this position is responsible for taking the lead, with collaboration of the entire office, in planning and implementing strategic engagement efforts, marketing, education, and outreach activities towards a goal of increasing the visibility, understanding, and community relations of the office.

The Training and Engagement Coordinator supports the equal opportunity, affirmative action, and civil rights compliance obligations and commitments of the university by enhancing and expanding the presence of the office on campus, online, and in the broader community. Beyond working directly with the office, this position is also responsible for informing and interacting with equity, inclusion, and diversity matters across campus and in the broader community.

EOA is committed to success for the entire university community through equity, fairness, and understanding. EOA serves as the civil rights compliance office for the university and engages in strategic leadership to advance inclusion efforts.

OSU is committed, through continuous improvement, to be a collaborative, inclusive, and caring environment that enables success for all people. OSU strives for equity and equal opportunity in everything that we do, and shares common, fundamental values grounded in justice, civility, and respect while looking to our diversity as a source of enrichment and strength.

The individual in this role will need to attend events occasionally outside of typical work hours, which may include evenings and weekends. Travel to Oregon State University sites beyond Corvallis may occasionally be required, with occasional overnight travel. Flex hours to accommodate identified and approved events will be provided. This position is intended to be a primarily in-person role, with possibility for some hybrid remote work, based on the needs of the office.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the duties of this position AND 1 year of professional experience coordinating, designing, and/or delivering trainings and presentations OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional training & organizational development experience.
Familiarity with and understanding of the principles and regulatory requirements related to civil rights laws, equal opportunity, and affirmative action.
Experience coordinating, designing, and/or delivering trainings and presentations.
Demonstrated commitment to equity and diversity and creating inclusive environments.
Demonstrated effectiveness in oral, written, and email communications.
Experience in the development of content in a variety of formats (e.g. websites, memos, newsletters, brochures, social media, articles, digital and print materials, etc.).
Understanding of design principles as related to the development of communication and educational materials.
Proficient with software and tools used for creating print and digital communication and educational materials.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
