Job Description
SCADA Technician
Seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) Technician. This position will perform general technical functions and activities within the water and wastewater treatment plant control systems.

Key responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot a wide variety of instrument types including ultrasonic, radar, thermal, magnetic flow, pressure cells and unique analytical devices.
• Perform calibrations, preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on instrumentation and control systems; primarily including various types of process sensors, flow meters, transmitters, and machine to machine communication equipment; including electrical equipment such as power generators, motors, variable frequency drives, motor control centers, transfer switches, control circuits, Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), etc.
• Investigate and interpret discrepancies between field instrument, PLC, and SCADA readings; make minor adjustments and document changes to the operating program within PLC software.
• Troubleshoot in panel wiring, surge protection and communication equipment including radio, cellular modems, and plant ethernet systems using various communication protocols (i.e., HART, ethernet IP, Modbus).
• Assist in the planning and implementation of SCADA system upgrades, expansions, and enhancements to accommodate changing operational requirements. Test and validate SCADA system upgrades or changes to ensure functionality and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure proper integration of new equipment and software into the SCADA system.
• Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance staff on the proper use, troubleshooting, and maintenance of SCADA systems and associated instrumentation.
• Ensure workplace is safe and accessible; identifies surplus and scrap materials; works with contractors, vendors, and engineers.
• Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements
Qualifications:
• Associate or Technical degree in Instrumentation and Controls (e.g. ISA CCST Certification) plus 5 years of facility maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of advanced experience and training.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage projects, and meet deadlines.
• Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting Water and Wastewater SCADA systems, including knowledge of communication protocols.
• Ability to review and interpret a Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) schematics, loop diagrams, electrical wiring diagrams.
• Ability to read and make basic modifications to ladder logic diagrams, function blocks, structured text, and other PLC programming information.
• Advanced knowledge of Variable Frequency drive, motor, valve, and pump types.
• Working knowledge of process optimization principles including PID controls, feed-forward, feedback, safety instrumented systems, edge of PLC networks communications over fiber and/or Ethernet IP as well as peer-to-peer communications within plant control systems.
