Assistant/Associate Professor
TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITION IN CANCER CELL BIOLOGY
JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

Applicants are invited to apply for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Department of Cell Biology and the Giovanis Institute for Translational Cell Biology. The Department’s research strengths include the areas of cell migration, membrane trafficking, organelle biology, developmental biology, and cancer cell biology. For this position, we seek outstanding individuals who are addressing fundamental problems of relevance to cancer biology. Areas of interest include but are not limited to metastasis/invasion/migration, (cancer) cell plasticity, and neuro-immune regulation of epithelial cell biology using genetic, molecular, biochemical, cellular, biophysical, synthetic, or integrative systems approaches. Candidates should have a PhD and/or MD, postdoctoral experience, and a strong publication record. The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent, exciting research program, participate in graduate and medical student teaching, and demonstrate a commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive biomedical community.

The Department of Cell Biology is one of nine departments in the Institute for Basic Biomedical Sciences (IBBS) at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Cell Biology faculty participate in the umbrella Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology Graduate Program, one of the foremost multidisciplinary graduate programs in the country. Faculty are also members of different centers within IBBS that draw from multiple departments to bring together individuals with shared research interests. The Department values collaborative, interdisciplinary exploration of cells in tissues, organs, and intact organisms.
