POSITION HIGHLIGHTS Full time, 40 hours per week Monday through Friday First shift Part of the P-4 (Engineering and Scientific) bargaining unit Hybrid (office/telework) and alternate work schedules may be available THE ROLE Engineers in the ADA Engineering Coordination team monitor and report on the Department’s ADA compliance as it relates to activities within the public right-of-way. The ADA Coordination Engineers work to implement ADA regulations and guidance through conducting training opportunities and updating resources available to the Department’s engineers, inspectors, and planners. Team members also work closely with regional planning agencies and Connecticut municipalities to ensure ADA compliance. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Applicants must be available to travel for training, conferences, meetings, field reviews, etc. both within and outside of normal working hours, when necessary. A valid driver's license is required and must be maintained. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE A Bachelor’s degree in engineering and two (2) years of experience in a professional transportation engineering or transportation construction engineering capacity. NOTE: For state employees one (1) year of experience must have been at the level of a Transportation Engineer 1 (Engineering) or (Construction Engineering). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED Possession of Professional Engineer (PE) licensure from the Department of Consumer Protection State Board of Examiners for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors consistent with C.G.S.§20-302 may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree requirement. Possession of Engineer-In-Training (EIT) licensure from the Department of Consumer Protection State Board of Examiners for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors consistent with C.G.S.§20-302 may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree requirement.
