Job Summary The Assistant/Associate Director, Advancement Services provides operational direction for Advancement Services functions including data management and data security and quality. As a subject matter expert, they are responsible for the administration, management, and continual optimization of the organization's primary fundraising database, Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, and the NXT platform.

Job Description
Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
Coordinates the analysis and documentation of business processes related to the data systems and sets priorities for Advancement Services.
Assists the director or other appropriate administrator in long-term planning, strategic alignment, and management oversight of the department.
Maintains high data standards for constituent/donor records and manages data imports/exports, data entry, global updates, and gift processing to support fundraising effectiveness.
Maintains the donor database, including developing policies and protocols governing its operations and serving as the point of contact for its use.
Designs complex queries, custom reports, and dashboard views for University Advancement.
Serves as the organization's subject matter expert on the Raiser's Edge database and NXT platform.
Designs, implements and conducts database training for new and existing users and routinely identifies training needs and develops written user guides.
Serve as the first line of support for technical needs; troubleshoot user issues and engage external support when needed.
Manage and ensure users follow proper security protocol procedure guidelines to include working with users throughout the team, across other departments, and third-party product and service providers.
Monitor database regularly and perform routine data cleanup and maintenance to ensure data integrity.
Stay up to date on the latest features and functionalities and propose enhancements to optimize use and recommend new technical solutions when needed.
In conjunction with supervisor, keeps up with the IRS and CASE rules regarding the processing and receipting of gifts.
Establishes performance goals and measures to evaluate the success of assigned areas of responsibility.
Participates in formulating and implementing policies and procedures.
Supervises the day-to-day operations of assigned area including the supervision of departmental employees. Provides guidance and direction to staff involved in department services and programs.
Responsible for ensuring that all programs, activities, and series comply with university, state, and federal regulations.
This position requires either ten years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
Demonstrated success in CRM management.
Professional full-time experience with Advancement Services or other relevant experience.
Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook).
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
This position requires either eleven years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and seven years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
Professional full-time experience with Advancement, fundraising, or other relevant experience.
Demonstrated success identifying new funding donor sources.
Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook).
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles, best practices, trends, and legal constraints of fundraising, gift processing, and reporting within higher education.
Knowledge of or ability to learn Raiser's Edge.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Knowledge of modern database application development tools.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects.
Strong analytical skills to assess problems and determine creative, proactive solutions.
