USCIS Career Fair San Francisco, CA Join U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for a career fair on December 12, 2024, from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. (Pacific Time) to learn more about our humanitarian mission and how joining USCIS can be the start of a meaningful career. USCIS is the government agency that oversees lawful immigration to the United States, delivers decisions to individuals, families, businesses, workers, and those seeking a place of safety and shelter in our country, whether they filed applications, petitions, requests, or appeals. The work of USCIS employees makes the possibility of America a reality for immigrants, for the communities and economies they join, and for the nation. USCIS administers several humanitarian programs, domestically and abroad, to assist individuals seeking protection from persecution or torture, survivors of trafficking, domestic violence, or other serious crimes, individuals fleeing disasters or other temporary and urgent circumstances. By working in close collaboration with the Departments of State and Health and Human Services to fulfill the United States’ protection obligations, USCIS’ unique humanitarian programs have long been a beacon of hope and inspiration for individuals around the world seeking protection and refuge. Positions eligible for Direct Hire Authority (all U.S. Citizens and Nationals): Asylum Officer GS-7/9/11/12*- Adjudicate asylum applications, conduct credible and reasonable fear screenings, and adjudicate other benefit applications managed by the asylum program, including motions to reopen and reconsider. Available at the following locations: Bethpage, NY, Houston, TX, Newark, NJ, San Francisco, CA, and Tustin, CA. Asylum Officer GS-13 - Adjudicate asylum applications, conduct credible and reasonable fear screenings, and adjudicate other benefit applications managed by the asylum program, including motions to reopen and reconsider. Available at the following locations: New Orleans, LA, San Francisco, CA, and Tustin, CA. Supervisory Asylum Officer GS-13 - Provide direction to staff engaged in the administration and enforcement of Immigration and Nationality laws pertinent to the Asylum Program. Available at the following locations: Bethpage, NY, New Orleans, LA, and San Francisco, CA. Legal Administrative Specialist GS-5/7/9* - Interact with applicants to elicit and provide valuable information relating to their case. Available at the following locations: Newark, NJ, and San Francisco, CA. Immigration Services Officer GS-5/7/9 - Independently research, interpret and analyze an extensive spectrum of sources in order to accurately adjudicate immigration benefits and petitions. Interact with applicants to elicit and provide valuable information relating to their case. Available at the following locations: Fresno, CA, Sacramento, CA, and San Francisco, CA Immigration Services Officer GS-9/11/12 - Independently research, interpret and analyze an extensive spectrum of sources in order to accurately adjudicate immigration benefits and petitions. Interact with applicants to elicit and provide valuable information relating to their case. Available at the following locations: Fresno, CA, Sacramento, CA, and San Francisco, CA, Chatsworth, CA, and Portland, OR. Language Specialist GS-11/12 (Intermittent)- Provide interpretation and translation services during immigration benefit interviews with USCIS, translate public information materials related to immigration benefits, and other language services. Available at the following locations: Remote. Positions eligible for Non-Competitive Hiring Authority (Veteran, Schedule A, etc.): Immigration Officer GS-11/12/13 - Conduct extensive inquiries, detailed research and analysis and liaise with law enforcement organizations and intelligence agencies to investigate allegations of potential fraud, address national security concerns and combat public safety threats within the immigration system. Available at the following locations: San Francisco, CA, and San Jose, CA . Congressional Liaison Specialist GS-13/14 - Liaise, plan, direct, and coordinate congressional and intergovernmental activities related to the USCIS mission. Available at the following locations: Camp Springs, MD. Case Management Specialist GS-5/7/9/11/12 - Available at the following locations: Remote. *For the Asylum Officer GS-7/9/11/12 and Legal Administrative Specialist GS-5/7/9: Recruitment Incentive may be authorized for newly appointed employees (i.e., individuals who have never been employed by the federal government or individuals who have had break in service of at least 90 days from their previous appointment as an employee of the Federal Government).
