Assistant Professor of Biology The Department of Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences at Loyola University Chicago seeks qualified candidates for an appointment as Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2025. The Department of Biology has 48 full-time faculty serving 1,600 undergraduate majors and is located on the university’s Lakeshore Campus. The Department offers several BS degrees and a research-based MS degree. For more information about the department, please visit our web site at https://www.luc.edu/biology. We welcome candidates with strong research and teaching profiles in areas of Biology that will engage undergraduate students interested in careers in healthcare. Areas of special interest include Immunology, Physiology, and Molecular Biology, but all areas of Biology will be considered. This search is part of a College-wide, multiyear hiring initiative designed to hire outstanding researchers and teachers who are reflective of our diverse student body, committed to interdisciplinarity, dedicated to the pursuit of external grants, and appreciative of a Jesuit, Catholic education. Duties and Responsibilities: The person hired into this faculty position will be expected to run a productive research laboratory, involve undergraduate and graduate students in our master’s degree programs in their research, and compete for external research funding. This faculty member will also teach both core undergraduate courses (e.g., Genetics or Cell Biology) and upper-level elective courses in their area of expertise.
