Advancement Associate The Chapin School, an independent K-12 day school for girls located in New York City, seeks an experienced, collaborative and organized development professional to serve in the position of Advancement Associate in the Advancement Office. Job Overview The Chapin School Advancement department is a fast-paced and collegial office that serves the entire School community. As a critical contributor to a collaborative 10-person team, the Advancement Associate maintains data for the Advancement Office and administratively supports a highly productive fundraising office. This position is a good fit for someone who is looking to gain experience in non-profit fundraising and database management. The Advancement Associate reports to the Director of Development & Alumnae Affairs and Director of Annual Giving. Responsibilities: · Perform administrative and database duties such as filing, creating spreadsheets, querying, exporting, report running, phone monitoring · Gift entry for Annual Giving and special funds gifts and gift receipts · Responsible for the acknowledgement process for Advancement and the Head of School · Maintain accuracy of Raiser's Edge database by regularly updating constituent records · Layout and deployment of email campaigns · Provide support for volunteer committee meetings and phonathons including attending and assistance as needed · Assist events and provide support as directed · Maintain confidentiality · Supporting the Advancement Office as a whole with a focus on alumnae relations · Other duties as assigned How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and résumé. Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree required · 1-2 years previous work experience preferred · Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work · Accuracy, meticulous attention to detail and ability to follow through · Strong verbal and written communication skills for all facets of work including email, written and phone · A collaborative colleague dedicated to working as a member of a team · “Can do” spirit and a sense of humor · Genuine interest in the specific values stated in the Chapin mission · Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Mac operating system · Experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred · Experience with MailChimp and InDesign a plus · Fundraising experience in a school setting preferred Contact Information
