Excellent Academic Chief of Endocrinology & Metabolism in the Beautiful Pacific Northwest - Seattle, WA The VA Puget Sound Healthcare System (VAPSHCS) is actively recruiting a Board-Certified Director of Endocrinology & Metabolism Section to help care for our veterans – America’s heroes. The selected candidate will be appointed to the full-time faculty at the University of Washington at the Associate or Full Professor rank, commensurate with experience. The VA Puget Sound HCS is seeking a full-time Director of Endocrinology & Metabolism Section to provide comprehensive delivery of quality patient care based on current standards in the practice of Endocrinology Diseases in our diabetes & endocrinology clinics and hospital, providing outpatient management of all endocrine disorders including thyroid ultrasound and biopsies. Skill and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including the ability to identify patient needs and to provide the care needed to promote improvement. Provider will also have teaching responsibilities include the effectiveness in teaching, monitoring and coordination of educational activities - planning, evaluating and documenting. The incumbent is responsible for the daily administrative and clinical operations of the Endocrine Section and reports directly to the Hospital and Specialty Medicine Care Line Manager. S/he may also work in the one or all the following units: Inpatient wards and Subspecialty Clinic area. In addition, the incumbent may be required to perform General Medicine attending duties on the inpatient wards. It is expected the candidate will have expertise in the management of Endocrinology diseases and disorders, and the skills and knowledge necessary to provide high quality, evidence-based care to Veterans across the spectrum of disease severity. This includes the ability to identify patient needs and to provide the care needed to promote improvement. Candidate is required to have at least 5 years of experience in the practice of Endocrinology Disease & Disorders. • Applicants must be U.S. Citizens (permanent residents may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens). •Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S. •Board Certification in Internal Medicine & Endocrinology •Medical Degree Contact Information
