|
Scientist II The Scientist II is primarily a bench level job focusing on real time PCR and RT-PCR assay and product development in an FDA-QSR and ISO9001 compliant organization. The candidate will plan and execute laboratory research, demonstrate appropriate technical proficiency, scientific creativity, and collaboration with cross-functional departments. This position is part of Assay R&D and will be located in Sunnyvale, CA, Onsite. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: - Design and develop the unique PCR based viral IVD product - Demonstrate conceptual and practical expertise in infectious disease field and basic knowledge of related disciplines - Implement verification and validation SOPs and write technical reports - Work independently, but also receive guidance as needed - Positively Impact a range of internal and external customers, and other related teams. - Bachelor’s degree in Molecular biology/Microbiology/Bioinformatics or related field with 2+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree in Molecular biology/Microbiology/Bioinformatics or related field with 1+ years of related work experience. - Performing rigorous analytical studies required to demonstrate technical feasibility and design verification studies - Maintaining detailed experimental records and present data at technical meetings - Effectively manage experiments with shifting priorities and meet due dates - Handling clinical samples and assist in microbiology work on BSL-1 and BSL2 organisms if needed. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: - GeneXpert platform - IVD assay development - Handling human clinical specimens and performing aseptic microbiology work Cepheid, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives. The salary range for this role is $82,000 to $126,000 USD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees. Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
