Job Description
Director of Diversity Programming
National Cathedral School in Washington, DC has engaged DovetailED to lead a search for a Director of Diversity Programming beginning July 1, 2025. The Director of Diversity Programming is a student-centered position supporting the school’s mission to create an inclusive environment for all community members by providing space and opportunities for students and faculty/staff to learn and grow. Based on experience, the salary for this position ranges from $75,000-$110,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package along with support for professional development.
Responsibilities for this position are focused on affinity work, planning annual school-wide diversity events, and teaching. This position reports to the Head of DEI and Ethical Leadership.

The Director:
Leads all affinity work with both student and faculty/staff groups including training, budget management and selecting new leadership.
Plans school-wide events including arranging speakers, planning a schedule and coordinating all aspects of the event to ensure a smooth and engaging experience.
Supports onboarding new employees.
Teaches a section of 9th and a section of 10th grade seminar.
Coordinates and plans student and adult attendance at DEI conferences.
Co-Leads the SEED seminar for faculty and staff.
Liaises with DEIB Divisional Deans for student programming.
Serves as a MS or US advisor.
And engages in other related activities and responsibilities.

All faculty and student-facing staff are involved in the life of the school through a variety of means such as leading a club, coaching a sport, or serving on a committee. Additionally, community members attend school functions, including but not limited to chapel and cathedral services, assemblies, and special events.

Qualifications & Requirements
We seek candidates who possess a bachelor’s degree; have worked in schools, preferably as a classroom teacher or held a DEI position; and participated in extensive DEI training and conference attendance. Qualified candidates must have strong written and oral communication skills and must have the capacity for facilitating effective collaboration and teamwork, managing sensitive topics with respect, and encouraging productive dialogue.
