Upper School Learning Specialist National Cathedral School seeks an Upper School Learning Specialist for its Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) beginning July 1, 2025. In collaboration with a LS/MS learning specialist, this position supports students to become successful learners and self-advocates, helping students make full use of school-based resources. In addition, the Learning Specialist assists in providing student learning and faculty professional development opportunities to increase student and teacher effectiveness in the classroom. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Reviewing/maintaining student records/files, Analyzing psycho-educational reports and providing recommendations based on these reports, Ensuring appropriate learning accommodations are in place for students in grades 9-12, Completing applications for ACT and SAT accommodations, Leading the Upper School Peer Mentor program, Collaborating with upper school deans, counselor, chaplain, and division head to offer student-centered support, and Consulting with faculty, administrators, and parents. As an advocate for a broad understanding of learning, the Upper School Learning Specialist of the Teaching and Learning Center helps parents, faculty, and students build a positive culture of support around issues of learning in a rigorous curriculum. The salary for this position ranges from $60,000-$130,000 depending on years of experience. Benefits include a comprehensive benefits package along with support for professional development. Additionally, qualified candidates hold a master’s degree in psychology, education, or special education. Experience in analyzing psycho-educational testing, completing ACT and SAT accommodations applications, supporting and developing executive function skills, and working with students of varying levels of ability are necessary.
