The Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC), under the umbrella of the State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Qualified Craft Worker (Electrical) (PCN 26490). Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
Work Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Work Shift: First shift, 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

MORE ABOUT THE AGENCY AND FACILITIES:
The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), is a health care agency whose mission is to promote the overall health and wellness of persons with behavioral health needs through an integrated network of holistic, comprehensive, effective, and efficient services and supports that foster dignity, respect, and self-sufficiency in those we serve.

The Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC) is an urban community mental health center with an over 60-year tradition of serving individuals with serious mental illness and/or addiction. Founded in 1966, CMHC is a partnership between DHMAS and the Yale Department of Psychiatry. Each year over 5,000 people receive a variety of recovery-oriented services at CMHC and its satellite clinics, including treating individuals suffering from: severe and persistent psychosis, depression, anxiety, addictions (including alcoholism, cocaine, and gambling) and those with co-existing mental health and addiction problems.

Please note:

Qualifications & Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Four (4) years of experience in tasks in the electrical trade.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been performing skilled electrical trades.

NOTE: For state employees this experience is interpreted at the level of a Skilled Maintainer or Transportation Maintainer 2.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
Graduation from a vocational or technical school with a diploma designating completion of subject requirements in a maintenance trade area may be substituted for two (2) years of the General Experience.
At the University of Connecticut: Satisfactory performance and completion of the UConn Facilities Internship Training Program may be substituted for the General and Special Experience as determined by UConn Facilities Operations and Human Resources Management.
At other state agencies: Two (2) years of experience as a Qualified Craft Worker Intern in a designated maintenance trade area may be substituted for the General and Special Experience.
Experience performing technical duties within the electrical trade area on a military base, aircraft carrier or large compound may be substituted for the General and Special Experience on a year for year basis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Possess an E-2 license.
