Head Nurse
The State of Connecticut, Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) invites applicants to apply for multiple regional Substitute Head Nurse positions for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.
Position Highlights:
Substitute positions are intermittent, on an as-needed basis
First (1st) shift
Monday - Friday
7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, or 7:15 AM - 2:15 PM
The Role:
Substitute Head Nurses will provide backup coverage when the Head Nurse is absent, and assume all Head Nurse duties. These positions will be supported by the Supervising Nurse, regional Float Nurse, school Administrators, and onsite school-based health centers at some locations.

Region 3: A.I. Prince THS (Hartford), H.C. Wilcox THS (Meriden), E.C. Goodwin THS (New Britain), Vinal THS (Middletown), Howell Cheney THS (Manchester)
Region 4: Harvard H. Ellis THS (Killingly), Windham THS (Windham), Norwich THS (Norwich), Ella T. Grasso THS (Groton)

Qualifications & Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED A Bachelor’s degree in nursing may be substituted for one (1) year of the General Experience.
