Elder Marvin Lewis Tiller Jr., a native of Baltimore, Maryland, was born on June 16, 1988, to Marvin L. Tiller, Sr., and Sharon A. Sampson. He received his education through the Baltimore City Public School Systems, and is a PROUD graduate of Edmondson-Westside Senior High School where he held the positions of Executive Coordinator & Treasurer of the graduating class of 2007. He also played the Tuba in the Edmondson-Westside High School Marching Band, Concert Band, and Played the Piano in the Jazz Ensemble. He is currently a Junior at Shaw University where he is maintaining an overall 3.75 Grade Point Average and majors in Religion/Philosophy and is a Member of the Shaw University Platinum Sound Marching Band, A Residential Advisor and sits on the Executive Board of the Student Government Association for the 2009-2010 academic school year. He Preached his initial sermon, “Deliverance,” on Sunday December 27, 1998, and on Wednesday, April 19, 2006, he received laying on of hands and was ordained an Elder in the Charismatic Churches of God in Christ, International under the leadership of the Late Presiding Bishop James Arthur Parson, Sr., and is a dedicated member of the New Commandment Church, a Church under the covering of the Charismatic Churches. In addition to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, he is a Youth Sunday School teacher, and a Musician. On Wednesday, June 21, 2006, he auditioned and was accepted to perform in the Baltimore Ravens Marching Band he still performs with them to this day. His desire in life is to be an Educator on the University level and a pastor of his own Church in order to make positive contributions to the youth and the community at large. Edmondson-Westside High School’s slogan states: “Excellence Demands Sacrifice” and Marvin believes in being a living testimony of that slogan. Therefore, he has already begun making sacrifices for excellence by limiting his recreational time in order to devote more time to studying and achieving good grades. Marvin also lives by and encourages people of Matthew 19:26, “But with GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.”

Claim To Fame:
I love Shaw University, I have been preaching the Gospel for 10 years, I play the Tuba, Baritone Horn, Keyboard, Organ and Drums. I am a Resident Advisor and I sit on the Executive Board of the Student Government Association
Most Memorable Moment:
When I traveled with the Pep-Band to Charlotte for the CIAA Tournament, Another Memorable College Moment was the last week of school and there was a near school wide Water Fight....it was awesome because being a Resident Advisor was essential.
