My name is Darkese Marcellus Wicker. I am student at Morehouse College. I am the oldest of 8 children and the first in my immediate family to attend a prestigious HBCU. I am the pillar for my family and it is my duty to set the highest standards for my brothers and sisters. I am a son of a beautiful black queen who raised me and my 2 younger sisters all on her own. I am a father and an a man who seeks to be the be the inspiration to my son that I wish I had as a child. I am not a perfect person but I am a student who strives to to learn and be a better man everyday that I am on this earth.

I want to bring about my change in the world by obtaining a position on the Georgia Board of Education and changing policies that could be an advantage to the black community, and ultimately building and owing my own charter school by the age of 40.
