This guide explores practical ways to grow your network and safeguard your mental well-being as an LGBTQ+ college student. Explore LGBTQ+ Groups on Campus Many colleges and universities have dedicated LGBTQ+ organizations. These groups often host events, workshops, and meetups where you can meet others who share similar experiences. Participating in these activities is a great way to meet new friends and discover a supportive network within your campus. Check out your institution’s student support services to find groups tailored to LGBTQ+ students. Many of these organizations also offer safe spaces for discussions, mentorship programs, and initiatives to educate the broader student body. They’re a welcoming starting point for fostering connection. Join Local LGBTQ+ Community Centers Local LGBTQ+ community centers can provide a sense of belonging.
