Inspiring Story Behind My Nonprofit
|
Posted By: Jordan Gastion on July 19, 2025 Over It — That’s exactly how I felt about majoring in my passion: dance. I loved dance deeply, but I couldn’t shake the voice in my head telling me I had more to offer the world. From the age of 13, I made over $6,860 from my gift of dance — so you can imagine the fear of pivoting careers after investing so much of myself into it. But something had to change. My love for community and my entrepreneurial spirit started pulling other skills out of me — skills that eventually led me to co-found a non-profit organization dedicated to helping struggling artists and providing underserved communities with equal access to visual and performing arts education. Walking away from the dance program at Alabama State University was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made — but one I’ve never regretted. That leap of faith turned into a new purpose that allows me to impact so many lives. 👉 I shared more about this journey in a recent interview — including the story behind my non-profit. If you’ve ever struggled with walking away from what you love to step into something bigger, this is for you. 👓Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/e3rCX9vU Thank you again to Voyage ATL for featuring our story this month!
