"We Are Still Fighting": Beatty Inspires Columbus to Continue Dr. King's Legacy at Annual MLK Event

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on January 25, 2026 In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Congresswoman Beatty joined the City of Columbus' Department of Neighborhoods Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day March and Program, in the spirit of Dr. King's march towards justice and equality. In freezing temperatures, Beatty, alongside Columbus leaders and residents, throughout Columbus in honor of Dr. King’s historic march for justice and equality. Starting at St. Paul AME Church, attendees went on to march from the church across the Long Street bridge, and ended at the Lincoln Theatre. Beatty delivered a speech encouraging Columbus residents to continue Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of advocacy, noting that in these trying times, Dr. King's message should inspire us to keep the fight, engage in our communities, and raise our voice for common change. 🔔 Subscribe for more Columbus and DC event coverage and follow us on social media for updates.
