While March Madness reaches its climax in Indianapolis, the HBCU basketball community will showcase its own elite talent as the HBCU All-Star Game returns for its fifth year to the Circle City.

Set to tip off on Sunday, April 5, at 1 p.m. at Corteva Coliseum inside the Indiana State Fairgrounds, the event will bring together 24 of the top Black College basketball players in America for a celebration of excellence, tradition, and community.

Key Takeaway: The HBCU All-Star Game honors student-athletes, coaches, and community leaders while creating powerful opportunities for visibility, connection, and inspiration for HBCUs on one of college basketball's biggest weekends.

Travis L.

Williams
, the event's founder, emphasized the importance of the annual showcase:

We will continue honoring and celebrating the rich history, tradition, and contributions of HBCUs to the sport of college basketball.

The festivities will extend beyond the hardwood, featuring community engagement events, recognition programs, and a high-energy game day that showcases the best of HBCU basketball traditions.

Two Legendary Teams

The 24 elite players will compete under banners named in honor of two HBCU and NBA legends — Bob Dandridge and Sam Jones — representing a bridge between HBCU basketball's storied past and promising future.

Team Bob Dandridge will be led by coaches Nolan Smith (Tennessee State) and Larry Dixon (Morehouse), featuring standout players including:

  • Aaron Nkrumah and Travis Harper II (Tennessee State)
  • Anthony McComb III (Norfolk State)
  • Bryce Harris (Howard)
  • Dionte Johnson (North Carolina Central)
  • Jermontae Hill (Morehouse)
  • Rob Lawson (Morgan State)
  • Xzavier Long and Josh Ogundele (Hampton)

Team Sam Jones will be coached by Reggie Theus (Bethune-Cookman) and Devin Hoehn (Fayetteville State), with a roster that includes:

  • Daniel Rouzan and Jakobi Heady (Bethune-Cookman)
  • Dontae Horne (Prairie View A&M)
  • Kintavious Dozier (Alabama A&M)
  • Nick Woodard (Alcorn State)
  • Roderick Coffee III (Grambling State)
  • Tyler Shirley (Florida A&M)

Fans can catch all the action live on the Wish Television Network and streamed on BET Fast Channel, ensuring HBCU basketball excellence reaches audiences nationwide during one of the sport's premier weekends.
