MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's tennis team showcased their resilience on Thursday, bouncing back with a dominant two-match performance at the SIAC Roundup. The Badgers picked up consecutive victories to even their week's record and build momentum heading into Friday's action.

Spring Hill opened Thursday with a commanding 7-0 shutout victory over Savannah State, demonstrating complete control across all courts. The sweep marked a statement win for the Badgers, who didn't drop a single match against their SIAC opponents.

The team maintained their winning ways later in the day, capturing a 5-2 victory against Edward Waters to complete the Thursday sweep.

The back-to-back wins highlighted the depth and determination of the Spring Hill squad as they navigated a challenging tournament schedule.

Key Takeaway: Spring Hill's Thursday performance evened their SIAC Roundup record at 2-2 for the week, setting up crucial matches on Friday to potentially finish the tournament above .500.

The double-header success represents an important turnaround for the Badgers, who now carry positive momentum into the final day of competition. With both Savannah State and Edward Waters also representing HBCU institutions, the matches showcased the competitive depth within the conference.

Spring Hill's week at the SIAC Roundup includes:

  • Current record: 2-2 for the week
  • Thursday results: 2-0 (7-0 vs. Savannah State, 5-2 vs. Edward Waters)
  • Remaining matches: Two scheduled for Friday

The Badgers will look to build on Thursday's success when they return to the courts on Friday for the final two matches of the SIAC Roundup. With momentum now on their side and confidence restored after the two victories, Spring Hill has positioned itself to potentially finish the week strong in Mobile.

The tournament continues to provide valuable conference competition as HBCU tennis programs prepare for the heart of their spring seasons.
