Posted By: How May I Help You NC on January 18, 2017 Hometown: Raleigh, NC Year in School: Senior Major/Minor: Industrial and Systems Engineering Expected Graduation: 2017 Extracurricular Activities: I hold active membership in various organizations. I am a member of Golden Key National Honor Society, Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society, Institute of Industrial Engineers, and National Society of Black Engineers. I have also served as a district four Student Government Association senator for the College of Engineering and Treasurer for Couture Productions. Leisure Activities: I work with I am U.N.L.I.M.I.T.E.D, an Aggie founded non-profit program where I serve as a mentor for a local Greensboro elementary school. I value the importance of using passion as a method of helping others, which is why I love being a mentor to younger students. Just as others helped to light my path I want to be that light to help someone else. I also have a strong passion for dance. In my spare time, I have volunteered as a hip-hop dance teacher at Twirling Divas Performing Arts Studio Inc. The studio has given me the opportunity to combine my love for helping others with my love for dance. I enjoy stressing to my students that they can do anything they set their minds to, and to always give it their best. As much as I try to teach them, they teach me so much more. They inspire me every day to keep going and be the best role model that I can. Career Goals: Through my multiple internship experiences with fortune 500 companies, I have gained the vital skills of networking, professionalism, and technical training. Upon graduation, I plan on attending graduate school and obtaining my masters in the field of Industrial and Systems Engineering, focusing on advanced manufacturing processes to study human factor relationships within manufacturing facilities. What is your most memorable contribution as a Campus Queen?: Expanding on my platform, Public Queen Announcement, and impacting students at my university and people in my communities of Greensboro and Raleigh have been the most memorable contributions during my campus queen experience. I have been able to focus on women's empowerment, student development, and community outreach initiatives throughout my reign with the hopes of my continued participation long after I have passed the crown. Serving as the 82nd Miss North Carolina A&T State University has been a blessing, and it warms my heart to hear a young girl say to me, "Miss A&T, you've inspired me, and I want to be just like you. Thank you for all that you do and for inspiring me to want to go to North Carolina A&T." It's moments like these that make my reign of being an Historically Black College and University Queen that much more fulfilling in defining my purpose as a campus queen.
