Posted By: How May I Help You NC on January 19, 2017 Hometown: Altamonte Springs Year in School: Senior Major/Minor: Biology Expected Graduation: 2018 Extracurricular Activities: I am the Vice President of the Global Literacy Circle Club, a member of Black Women of Excellence, a member of the Florida Memorial University Volleyball Team, a member of National Association for Advancement of Colored People, E-board for Student Government Association, President of Youth Ministry, and a member of the Science Club. Leisure Activities: On my spare time, I volunteer as a mentor for the DIVAS Destined For Greatness Program and I volunteer at the Altamonte Springs Teen Camp. On Thanksgiving, I feed the homeless along with the Orlando Magic Basketball Team. I also enjoy taking trips and exploring different parts of the world. Lastly, I love taking pictures to capture each moment in my life. Career Goals: After graduation my goal is to attend Medical School, either at Emory Medical School or University of Central Florida. Once I obtain a medical degree, I intend to specialize as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist. However, my intended goal as a physician is to work for a non-profit hospital where I can serve individuals and families who are in need of healthcare and cannot afford the costs. What is your most memorable contribution as a Campus Queen?: My most memorable contribution as a Campus Queen was my Step Up and Step Out: Expand Your Horizons program where I applied 4 Major Keys. Expand your Education: Mr. FMU and I implemented a book scholarship for 20 students on campus to purchase books for their classes. Expand your confidence: I implemented a program called the Making of a FMU lady; this program assisted and helped the incoming freshmen to become settle and received additional information concerning the university. Also, I had an event called Farewell Letters to President Obama, where students wrote letters to the President. Expand your service: is about making an impact and positive change on the campus and in the community. This program has allowed me to be a part of a mentor-ship program where I assist the female 8th graders with their studies. Expand your pride: I encourage and motivate my peers to get involved with the activities around campus. Read more at EBONY http://www.ebony.com/contestants/natasha-j...
