Brittney Lamb, Miss Elizabeth City State University

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on January 19, 2017

Hometown: Elizabeth City, NC

Year in School: Junior

Major/Minor: Biology/Pre-Dentistry

Expected Graduation: 2018

Extracurricular Activities: I have served as a STEM Peer Tutor, LSAMP Academic Research Training (ART) Mentor, and have completed research in the Biology department. I also served as Miss Student Activities Committee 2015-2016. Outside of campus related activities, I assist in mentoring the young ladies in my church.

Leisure Activities: In my free time, I can be found crafting, sewing, and completing D.I.Y. projects. I am also a football fanatic and take every opportunity possible to root for the Carolina Panthers.

Career Goals: After obtaining my Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology, I plan to attend dental school where I will gain the knowledge needed to serve as a Dentist. In my career as a Dentist, I will provide care to the underserved and rural areas of North Carolina. This will aid in improving the overall health of individuals, especially minorities, in my community.

What is your most memorable contribution as a Campus Queen?: As a Campus Queen, I have been granted the great responsibility to motivate and lead my peers by simply leading by example. My most memorable experience as Queen occurred when a young lady approached me near the dining hall stating that she had a unique story to tell me. She expressed that a few of our fellow students mistook her for me and complimented her appearance and poise. The young lady excitedly mentioned that this encounter increased her confidence and motivated her to “walk with her head held high”. While the young lady believed that I inspired her to live confidently, she did not know I was as equally inspired. Each day, I make a conscious effort to genuinely live my life grounded in faith, grace, and perseverance. My encounter with the young lady reminded me that it is the small, personal interactions with others that may leave the greatest impact.
