Posted By: How May I Help You NC on January 19, 2017 Hometown: Vidalia, GA Year in School: Senior Major/Minor: Psychology Expected Graduation: 2016 Extracurricular Activities: President of the Kings and Queens Coalition, 2016-2017; Orientation Guide Corp Executive Board Member, 2016-2017; Member of Undergraduate Psychology Association, 2013-Current; Psi Chi Psychology Honors Society, 2015-Current Leisure Activities: I enjoy singing, baking and praise dancing; I find time to write poetry and to read inspirational novels when I have a moment to myself. I choose to do these activities to provide myself with therapy. Each clears my mind in its own way and helps me to relax. Career Goals: When I was a child, I thought I would be a singer or a teacher - now that I have grown, I have found a passion in serving by giving my voice. My ultimate goal is to become a motivational speaker, tackling what I call mental incarceration in the black community, and defining what it means to be men and women with a calling and a purpose. It is my wish to help shed light on our royal bloodline as children of The Most High God. I would also like to start a non profit organization servicing at risk youth in the areas of academia, self-esteem, physical and spiritual wellness. What is your most memorable contribution as a Campus Queen?: Serving as Miss Clark Atlanta University has opened many doors for me. I have been able to support my student body on numerous occasions, but I find the most enjoyment in what I have been able to do for the community. My most memorable contribution thus far came from speaking with the high school seniors at a school in East Point. I was given the task along with other kings and queens of encouraging these students in different areas of life. The response from those students after giving my testimony warmed me deeply, and gave me the confidence to continue to speak on my experiences to encourage others. I was able to build my self-esteem while serving a body of students - it was a day I will never forget. Read more at EBONY http://www.ebony.com/contestants/alyssia-m...
