HBCUs compete and win in 2019 NCAA Div. II Track and field championships
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on May 28, 2019

Several HBCU schools and individuals competed this past week for the 2019 NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships held in Kingsville, Texas held May 23-35.

Among those are the women's 100 meter champion Rene Medley, who also captured first place in the 4x400 meter relay, 200 meter, and 4x100 meter relay, as she and several other teammates held down the fort and captured the 2019 team championship. This is the second year that they scored the team championships earning them the label as back-to-back champs!

On the men's side, it was Saint Augustine's University coming away with a second place team finish anchored by the strong performances of Brandon Parris in the 400 meters and the 4x400 meter relay team, whom Parris was also a member of, which placed first in their event.

Below are the results of all the HBCU participants who placed in the finals. Congratulations to all those who participated! Go HBCU!
