Daphnie Johnson Named Clinton College Athletic Director

Posted By: Kennedy Williams on September 15, 2022 Daphnie Johnson joins Clinton College as the new Director of Athletics. Johnson comes to the College from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she served as the women’s basketball assistant coach and athletic administrator. Johnson began her career in coaching at the high school level while residing in Florida. Working her way up to the collegiate level, Coach Johnson served as an assistant coach at St. Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina under Head Coach Antonio Davis. From there, Johnson served as Senior Woman Administrator of Athletics (SWA), Associate Head Women’s Basketball Coach, and Head Coach Men’s & Women’s Cross Country at Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. At Elizabeth City State, she helped guide the women’s basketball team to reach the 2019 CIAA semifinals in just her second year as Associate Head Coach. “We are excited to have Ms. Daphnie Johnson join our Clinton College family as our new Athletic Director,” said Dr. Angelyne Brown, Vice President of Student Success/Dean of Students. “Ms. Johnson comes with a wealth of knowledge and diverse experiences in collegiate athletics.
