National Black Golf Hall Of Fame Donates $7,500 To Fayetteville State University Golf Program

Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on December 07, 2022 Jeff Dunovant, Chairman of the National Black Golf Hall of Fame (NBGHF) announced a donation of $7,500 to the golf program at Fayetteville State University (FSU). A 1987 graduate of the university and star player on its golf team, Jeff was in town for his October 8 induction into the Fayetteville State University Athletic Hall of Fame, Dunovant surprised attendees with his announcement. Dunovant said, “while the core mission of the NBGHF is recognition of historical contributions to the game by people of color, we have added the support of HBCU golf programs that provide needed resources to ensure not only their survival but also their growth. As an alumni and HBCU graduate, I am proud the NBGHF can make such a contribution. We hope to make additional donations to other HBCU golf programs in the future!” When asked about this surprise gift from the NBGHF, Fayetteville State’s athletic director said this, “while I was certainly surprised by this gift, it comes from a man whose professional life has been dedicated to helping others. Mr. Dunovant is, like the cliché says, paying it forward and his organization’s gift is greatly appreciated by the university and specifically, the golf program! The National Black Golf Hall of Fame celebrates and honors exemplary achievements of Blacks in the golf industry. The organization also recognizes business and community leaders, regardless of race or ethnicity, who ensure Blacks are presented opportunities to participate in any facet of golf. written by AAGD NEWSWIRE August 14, 2022 If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
