Emoni Lucky is a senior Mass Communications major with a concentration in Public Relations. Lucky is currently in her last venture with Bloomberg for the Media Business rotational program. The program for Bloomberg Media delivers a trusted suite of content, products, and strategic marketing services that connect audiences and partners to ideas and intelligence across every platform and time zone. Lucky hopes to strengthen her hard skills in her profession by gaining more experience in social media branding and learning how to sell an experience with her photography business. Lucky is looking to work with Bloomberg, Google, or a city firm post-graduation. Her advice for a successful undergraduate experience is to set goals in all aspects of life for the betterment of relationships, career, and self-worth. Lucky also stresses the art of consistency and practicing becoming the person you want to be.

Joshua Kiprono is a senior computer science major who has had the opportunity to gain hands on experience with leading tech companies such as Google and Microsoft. This past summer Kiprono worked with Office Media Group on the Microsoft Strem Platform. Microsoft Stream is an enterprise video platform that serves about 300M users. Recently he was accepted into the ‘22 Bloomberg San Francisco Tech Lab. This is an in-person conference at the Bloomberg San Francsico tech hub that will increase his financial knowledge and help learn more about the company’s market leading technology. Kiprono is actively interviewing companies that are in the startup stages. His top choices are Byte Dance (TikTok), Stripe, Discord, Notion, Instacart and Databricks. His advice to undergraduates is to start looking for internships as early as freshman year instead of relying too much on school course work for active knowledge.

Daa’iyah Fogle is a senior Mass Communications major with a concentration in Public Relations. Fogle is also the owner of Day’s Design which over the summer was granted funding by the NBA in the Next Gen Pitch Competition.

This competition was preceded by an eight-week accelerator problem that broke down key components on how to run a business, provided networking opportunities and mentorship. After graduation she plans to hone her craft in order to flourish her company. She is looking into rebranding her business as well as looking for employment in the areas of PR/publicity for the entertainment industry and marketing on the creative side such as design. Fogle hopes to move to Los Angeles, California to begin her career in a larger hub. Her recipe for success is to take advantage of the opportunities presented and if there are none available then make them. Fogle stressed to not let your environment determine how far you can go. Fogle’s parting words were to remember that your network is your net worth.

Arielle Wiggins is a senior history major with a goal of becoming a HBCU history professor and be a part the site Black Women Movement as a prominent academic researcher. She is a Mellon Mays fellow (a program designed to diversify the academy) which grants her the opportunity of loan forgiveness for her PhD to a school of her choice. Some of the graduate school programs she is considering are Rutgers, UPenn, University of Texas Austin, Brown University, Duke University, UNC Chapel Hill Wiggins’ recipe for success is that she loves what she does, is grounded in faith, surrounds herself with like-minded people, never gets complacent and is present in the moment. Wiggins’ wants her scholarship to further emphasize that black women exist as powerful intellects.

Sydnei Fleming is a senior Biology major. After graduation she plans to attend schooling to be a Physician Assistant. So far, she has been accepted to Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Georgia (PCOM Georgia), High Point University and Presbyterian College. Fleming’s goal is to become a prominent PA in her community and bring awareness to not only the profession but also health disparities among minorities. Her advice to undergraduates is to stay motivated and focused. She emphasized that everyone may not understand the things you are doing to obtain your goal, but it will all be worth it in the end.
