ELETE Mentorship Program Launches Second Year at Winston-Salem State University

ELETE Mentorship Program Launches Second Year at Winston-Salem State University
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on September 05, 2024

The ELETE Experience, Inc. (ELETE) is entering its second semester this Fall at Winston Salem State University with entrepreneurial mentorship and training programs for students.

ELETE is working with partners like Winston-Salem’s Village Juice & Kitchen, The United Negro College Fund, and The Chris Paul Foundation to increase entrepreneurial mentorship opportunities on Historically Black Colleges & University (HBCU) campuses. Paul, a 12-time NBA All-Star and HBCU graduate, is proud to lend the support of his family foundation to the cause. “As a proud graduate of Winston-Salem State University, an HBCU, I am excited to support ELETE and the opening of the Village Juice & Kitchen location on the campus. I continue to support VJK’s plant-based menu and ELETE’s student mentorship”.

Nate Atkinson, the founder of ELETE, says “our first semester at Winston Salem State University was amazing. The mentorship program was a success and we have new students enrolled for our entrepreneurial curriculum this fall.” While enrolled in the ELETE Program, students receive cash stipends, academic credit, and scholarship assistance, while learning business skills and participating in workshops, and interacting with professionals in their related fields.

Dr.

Notis Pagiavlas shares Atkinson’s excitement, saying, “as the director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation at Winston-Salem State University, I am thrilled to collaborate in the design of the curriculum. This unique educational experience provides our aspiring entrepreneurial students a great opportunity to acquire hands-on managerial skills in a nurturing setting.” Working with diverse professionals and experts, ELETE creates connections between HBCU students, industry experts, and renowned leaders in each student’s area of interest.

Dr. Manju Bhat, Dean of the College of Arts, Sciences, Business and Education at WSSU agrees, sharing that “It takes a lot of creativity and passion to reach today’s students. We are always looking for opportunities to inspire our students and we are excited WSSU is the inaugural campus for the Program.”
