Posted By: How May I Help You NC on January 23, 2026 Creek Stewart is a world-renowned Wilderness Survival Instructor, Keynote Speaker, Author, and Television Host. As one of the most in-demand survival experts around the globe, he has been featured on The Today Show, Fox & Friends, The Doctors, Inside Edition, Outside Magazine and in the American Survival Guide. In the age of digital technology and mediated experience, accessing the tools to fully interact with nature to procure our own food, shelter and clothing are nothing short of profound, visible on the face of someone who has just learned to start a fire for the first time. TV show host and wilderness survival skills teacher Creek Stewart has spent 20 years teaching how to be self-reliant in nature, supporting people around the world as they learn and re-learn the primitive skills and simplest technologies of our ancestors. What is it is about connecting with the outdoors that is so transformational? Creek is a survival expert, television host, and author. He owns Willow Haven Outdoor Survival Training School, located in central Indiana, and hosts Fat Guys in the Woods, an original series on The Weather Channel. The station has picked up the show for its second season in 2015. Creek also wrote several books about survival, including Building the Perfect Bug Out Bag, Build the Perfect Bug Out Survival Skills, and The Unofficial Hunger Games Wilderness Survival Guide. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
