This semester, the Ray Charles Program saw numerous special guests come by and perform cooking demos and host food talks. One of these guests was the legendary Bruce “Sunpie” Barnes - a living archive of Afro-Louisiana sound, story and spirit. A multi-instrumentalist, former NFL player, park ranger, photographer, and Big Chief of the Northside Skull And Bone gang, Sunpie is the physical embodiment of a culture bearer. Sunpie Barnes shared his wealth of knowledge with the DU community with this very special edition of Music & Food Talk.
