History in Conversation: An Ode to Women’s History Month and the Trailblazer Who Documented the Institution’s First Century. This inaugural event highlighted Lelia G. Rhodes, Ph.D. and her service writing JSU's first official history. A new discussion-based program, this series is designed to explore milestones throughout Jackson State University's history. Hear from JSU historians and trailblazers Robert Luckett, Ph.D., Angela Stewart, Hilliard Lackey, Ph.D., and Gailya Porter as they reflect on the journey from Natchez to Jackson—and how that history continues to shape our present and inform our future. The event also featured an immersive exhibition showcasing original photos, artifacts and manuscripts written by Lelia G.
