This is a recording of a past event originally livestreamed on January 15, 2026. This recording captures Lincoln University of Missouri’s Founders’ Day Convocation, held Thursday, January 15, 2026, in Mitchell Auditorium, officially launching the University’s year-long 160th anniversary celebration. The ceremony honored the visionary legacy of the enlisted men and officers of the 62nd and 65th United States Colored Infantries, who founded Lincoln University in 1866 to ensure access to education for freed African Americans. The program featured keynote remarks from Valerie Daniels-Carter, Lincoln University Class of 1978, president and CEO of V&J Holding Companies, minority owner of the Milwaukee Bucks, and board member of the Green Bay Packers. Daniels-Carter reflected on Lincoln’s role in shaping her leadership journey and challenged students to carry forward the founders’ vision with confidence, purpose, and service. Additional remarks were delivered by Board of Curators President Tina Shannon and Lincoln University President John B. Moseley, who highlighted record enrollment momentum, rising retention and GPA trends, and major campus transformations underway during this milestone year. The ceremony also recognized the Cooper Family of East St. Louis, Illinois, as the 2026 Family of the Year, honoring a multi-generational legacy of six alumni and two current student leaders.
