Before finishing his college career at Virginia Tech, Tuten spent two seasons at North Carolina A&T State University, including a huge 2022 campaign in which he rushed for 1,363 yards and 13 touchdowns for the Aggies. The Jaguars selected him No. 104 overall in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and now in his second NFL season, he’s starting to make his presence felt. Through Jacksonville’s first two games of 2026, Tuten has rushed for 131 yards on 28 carries — 4.7 yards per carry — with a touchdown. Against Denver this past weekend, he put up 65 rushing yards and a TD on 13 carries. And that HBCU foundation matters. Tuten isn’t the only former HBCU player making an impact across the league, but his journey is another reminder that elite football talent continues to develop on HBCU campuses.
