Posted By: HBCU CONNECT on September 24, 2026 Check out this video from Howard University in Washington, District of Columbia! “You chose Howard, and Howard chose you.” During Howard University’s 2026 Opening Convocation, the Class of 2030 and the University community were reminded that admission to Howard is only the beginning. The full promise of Howard comes through preparation, engagement, service and a willingness to be transformed. It is found in seeking insight from professors, challenging yourself, participating fully in University life and discovering not only who you are, but who you are called to be. For Howard’s newest scholars, Convocation marks the beginning of that journey and an invitation to embrace everything The Mecca has to offer.
