Yo if you go to church nowadays you see more women than men in most churches. And ladies always say they want a good boy to marry but they act like if a dude in the church he is a punk or summin. But I think black men need to change that persona. And lets stand up and be apart of the Body of Christ and change the world. Education cant do it only God can. Education helps but God leads and education follows.
But I am askin you fellas what do you think of Church? Do you go? Why or Why not? And bruthas lets stop saying that all church girls are the biggest hoes that aint true, just cause you base it on a few.
Hotep,
Well, I am a Church Boy!
I've been in the church since I can remember, I love the church and what it represents. However, I believe that the church sometimes doesn't provide proper programs for Young Black Males.
Nevertheless, my church has about a 45% Males and 55% Females. We have a Large Youth/Teen Membership. Why? Because we provide a envir. that allows Black Youth to Be themselves. You would be amazed to see young Black Men Worshiping God in their TEE's and Forces. Praising God, Praying, and Lifting their Hands to Worship God.
Prince... I could go on!!!
I am PK I am force to go!!!!!
Seriously, I was raised in the church not only by my parents but also by my grandparents and godparents. Growing in the neighborhood that I grew up in and went 2 school in (2 different hoods), if it wasn't for my church raising I would either be **** or in jail waiting to die.
I don't go as much since I am in college without reliable transportation, but I still thank God for my church upbringing. In my 21 years of living, most people would have had a mental breakdown. I am not saying I went through the worst possible situation because someone always had it worse than you (in your perspective), but I know some people wouldn't be able to deal with what I have gone through.
For example, I have dealt with a death in my family (extended and church) for the last 6 years (since I was a HS So.), and still I am moving forward. My sophomore year of high school in the month of Feb. My grandfather died the first week, attended his funeral in Alabama the second week, was taking the TAAS(state exit exam that I had to pass to graduate) the next week found out my grandmother died the night before the last day of testing, and had her funeral the following week at home in Dallas. I thank God for my upbringing. On my 21st birthday, I didn't celebrate cause all I could do was smile while reflecting on what I have been though.
I am a preachers kid fa sho. I go to church every sunday. In my 2 years in college, I have only missed on sunday, and that was ealier this month. Even when I have partied saturday night, I managed to get up and get my praise on
