How did you know that the org you are in was the one for you.
I am interested in join a XYZ sorority, and I pray about it and ask for God to guide me in the right direction. Ever since then I have been seeing signs of ABC sorority and I don't want to join that one. I have see it on cars, on people, on sinks, on trucks, etc...I have just seen the common name (ie AKA's, Delta, Zeta, AOPi, SigLamGam...) everywhere. Is this a sign for me to dump my hopes and dreams of joining XYZ and I should go and try for ABC. Please give me some advice and if anyone has gone through the same thing please let me know.
I am not greek so you don't have to take my advice if you don't feel it helps but... I can tell you that you need to do your research. Yes, greeks are community service based but you need to find out what each organization focuses on, what it is doing on your campus and nationally and try to speak to different members of different organizations. I do stress speaking with more than one because of course not all opinions are the same. After that is said and done you should have more insight and that should help you out. Continue to pray, your main objective I assume is to serve HIM, it would be nice to see which organization can best help you do that. I hope all goes well for you.
Don't join anything. Because if one organization doesn't stand out above all others then maybe you should chill on this one and give it some substantive (translation: "real") thought. If all it takes to put doubt in your mind about org. XYZ is to see a bunch things with ABC on it then it's DEFINITELY not time for you to join an org.
Also when you say "dump hopes and dreams" and just join some org. it appears as if you don't care about either org. and just want to be a part of something. I'm not saying that this is who you are, it's just who you appear to be.
Joining an org is a lifetime comittment....you would be a(n) [insert common name here] for life. Nothing can change that. If joining XYZ is really in your heart, then you shouldn't want to settle for anything else.
If u don't want to join ABC then don't join ABC...
And besides, they probably won't pick u anyway...( No offense)
That is kind of out there, but you can be right they might not pick me for one reason or another.
Thanks all of you for responding. I am taking all replies into account, but I have made my decision to contiune and persue XZY sorority. ABC is just not for me in any way shape or form. Maybe there are just a lot of ABC sorority in Chicago but I will stick with what my heart is telling me, and if I make it you all will know about it!!

Sorry I came of as though I don't care about either org. I care deeply for XYZ even if they don't care for me as of yet. Also I am a part of something that is very important to me, G-Sweet! :wink: , but who says you can't be in to orgs :lol:
