I WAS JUST WONDERING BEING THAT I'M APPLYING TO BOTH SPELMAN COLLEGE AND BENNETT COLLEGE, WHAT PEOPLE WHO HAVE ATTENDED HERE, CURRENTLY ATTENDING OR LIKE MYSELF ( "05" SENIORS) ARE APPLYING THERE AS WELL KNOW ABOUT THE SCHOOL BECAUSE SPELMAN IS MORE WELL KNOWN U RARELY HEAR ABOUT BENNETT COLLEGE IN NORTH CAROLINA, SO IF ANYONE KNOWS ABOUT IT, HOLLA THANX

yeah you hear about bennett, if you go to bennett or Morehouse. That's our sister school, they came through rolling 12 buses deep for our homecoming. I dont know too much about their academics and what not, but they seemed to be nice young women.

I wasn't saying that you don't hear about it, its that you don't hear about it as much as you do Spelman. That seemed like a nice thing they did coming down to supprt ya'll at homecoming

^^^^^^ Your question doesn't make any sense about why an all-female school thats just like asking the hundreds of girls that attend spelman why they chose to go there, maybe its because of the great spelman and the person you become and the experience you have. I myself am applying to many other hbcus that are co-ed which I am most likely going to go to anyway (because being around too many females you know there is bound to be something wrong but hey thats at every school whether it be co-ed or all female), so my question to you why did you choose the college you attend

^Well you asked about other "All-female" schools so I assumed you were only interested in all-female schools.

REALIZING WHAT I SAID ABOVE ABOUT THE CLASHES/DRAMA THAT CAN SOMETIMES ARISE AT ALL-FEMALE SCHOOLS, I TAKE IT BACK BECAUSE EVENTHOUGH THIS DOES OCCUR YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT THE EXPERIENCE YOU WILL HAVE BUILDING THAT SISTERHOOD BETWEEN EACH OTHER. ALSO THE GOOD THING ABOUT BOTH BENNETT AND SPELMAN THEY ARE BOTH SURROUNDED BY SCHOOLS WHERE THERE ARE MALES , IN GREENSBORO, NC WHERE BENNETT IS LOCATED THERE IS NC A &T, UNC AT GREENSBORO AS FOR SPELMAN THERE'S THE "MOREHOUSE MEN" AND THE MEN OF CAU (WHERE AT BOTH SCHOOLS YOU CAN TAKE DUAL ENROLLMENT CLASSES AT THOSE COLLEGES, I DID MY RESEARCH  ) ME MYSELF HAVING ATTENDED PREDOMINATELY WHITE SCHOOLS SINCE MIDDLE SCHOOL I RARELY HAD THE CHANCE TO REALLY HAVE THAT BOND WITH OTHER BLACK GIRLS (DANG WHEN I THINK ABOUT IT BLACKPEOPLE IN GENERAL) BECAUSE IT WAS RARE IF WE HAD A CLASS TOGETHER, BEING THAT WE WERE IN THE MINORITY. ANYWAYS I TOOK THAT INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN BEGINNING MY COLLEGE SEACRH EVEN IT OUT BETWEEN PREDOMINATELY WHITE COLLEGES AND HBCUS BECAUSE I FELT I NEEDED TO CONSIDER BEING IN THAT ENVIRONMENT AROUND OTHER SUCCESSFUL BLACK WOMEN AND BLACK MEN. SO THERE IS ALWAYS A BRIGHTER SIDE TO ATTENDING A FEMALE SCHOOL BECAUSE THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SOCIAL EVENTS OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL WHERE YOU MEET FINE FELLAS  05 SENIORS

ive heard about bennet, but only because its morehouse's sister school. And about going to an all girl school, for me it wasnt like i picked Spelman because it was an all girl school, i picked it because it is ranked as one of the highest schools in the country for African Americans. I couldnt go to the number one school for obvious reasons. Its not like im deprived because i got to Spelman, and there arnt any males. The only place where you really see the difference is in the freshman classes but even my first semester there were boys in 2 of my classes. i mean, most hbcu's have more females anyway, so its not really a big deal. If its that serious,Morehouse is literally 7 feet away.

^^unless you live in castleberry. Yeah dont pick a school based on drama and drama queens, cuz if i did then i would have joined a military academy. Morehouse is 90% drama queen and its annoying, but the lack of in class distractions does wonders for my education.
