...this rapper named Mad Skillz? I've been listenin to his stuff for a while now...He usually does a year-end "rap up" song. I've heard the rap up's for 2002 and 2003, but I haven't heard a 2004 yet. Is there even one out yet, or has he just been slackin?
I heard he wasn't gonna do it this year. Rumor has it he lost a lot of work (Ghostwriting) over the Rap up he did for '03. He's been beefing w/ Shaq recently because of some other freestyle he did.
Oh yea...He works in Parking at a College/University in Virginia...the name slips my mind at the moment but I want to say VCU.

His buzz always dies out too quick. I like his first album "From Where" and his mixtapes are always nice, but As far as making Radio songs he just doesn't appeal to the people. I remember him having one video reach BET and that was with Timberland and Missy...The video was basically the "Slow Jamz" video that Twista and Kanye did.
And Yes I mean meter-maid. MCA records doesn't push it's hip hop artists out so he decided to Ghostwrite. He almost got sued a few years ago for naming the names that he ghostwrote for. If he could keep a buzz he wouldn't have to sell his hits.
Yo that nig look so familiar....i might have seen him around at school, i know he from VA somewhere but im not quite sure if he works in our parking department...but then again i could be wrong. :?

Those cats were raw but I don't think they appeal to record companies or people in general.
They have their following tho but not enough to get paid. They gotta stick to their day job unfortunately.

Thats good to hear. I was listening to my old Lyricist Lounge vol. 1 yesterday. Those cats are sick. They have punchlines that'll make Fabolous cringe and drop. I realized there are some who made it tho... like Black Thought, Common, Pharoah Monche (<--slacking). Others need to take up the baton and get out that local rapper mindset.
