I need to know if we should go ahead and launch a video chat room for everyone on the site to use? The chat room is definitely hot, because it will have the ability to automatically pick up your HBCU Connect member profile (and picture) so you can just login to it without having to create a new account to gain access...
Also, the chat room has not only real time text chat, but it also has LIVE AUDIO & VIDEO, so you can see and hear other people on here who have a web cam or audio set up.
Here is the only thing that is holding us back from launching it just yet... It is really expensive to host a hot video chat room, so we want to know if this is something that would be worth paying for ? I guess we can always launch it and find out, but depending on the response we get, we might have to buy several machines to host all of the users that may want to simultaneously chat...
I'm thinking, if cats would pay $10.00 to go to the club and kick it, holla at a few chics/dudes then if we made the chat like $9.99 for you to have access for a full month, it might be worth it...

I agree w/ Rod! I also dont think u should fool urself into believing that college students are going to pay $10/month for video chat ESPECIALLY when they can get it for free. (And paying $10 for a club and $10 for video chat are two totally different things) I think its a nice idea and it may make the site more appealing to some but I hardly think its worth the time and effort.
College students or not aren't going to pay to see or hear others when there are free sites out there for that. I think it's a great idea, but no one's going to pay for it.
I say no, because some people really don't care how errybody on this site looks, and if they do, then all they have to do is ask the person for a picture or something. Plus it probably wouldn't be a successful idea: most people wouldn't be willing to pay $10 a month for that service.

I'm starting to think we'll make it free as long as we can afford to do so, and then play it by ear. But I still want to hear back from as many people as possible... I'll probably also remove the option for "No we don't need a chat room" since the people who don't like chat rooms don't have to use it. :roll:

If not would you be willing to pay $10 a month to use it?
